GARLAND DESIGN

Three examples of the garland design; respectively –

From a Phoenician temple at Byblos (in association with conventionalised Winged Disc;

From a Sivaite temple at Aihole, in India – probably seventh century A.D. (Report of the Archaeological Survey of India, 1907-8);

and from the Great Ball Court at Chichen Itza Yucatan (after Maudslay).
