Now
as to the letters. In times past in other lands, and even in
this one since the great king Sargon, the figures of clay have
been marked by picture and symbol. But in all this time there
has been what is called the Alefbeg – the civilized language.
These have been kept secret amongst the followers and priests
of Nebo, for Nebo has followers in many lands under many names,
and the symbol for his work is the circle with its center the
star of six points with its spiral.
