Minoan
civilization in the Mediterranean has been associated with artistic
bulls; sophisticated plumbing systems; elegant frescoes depicting
great sailing fleets, seemingly vessels of trade, not war; an
appreciation of leisure and of womans equal role in society;
and great palaces at Crete, 2,100 B.C., and (depicted above)
in Mycenaean Greece 1,600 B.C. That these small islands could
have recreated aspects of Atlantis is probable. That they could
have been that great island-continent is absurd.
